I’ve tried to be conscious of not wasting time during this year off from work. As we keep busy, most days fly by. I was reminded how quickly time passes by my plants from school that are now on our back porch. At the end of June, I cut them all back to bring them home. In a very short time they have grown and grown. It’s a good reminder that time is the one thing we can’t control.
When we travel, we don’t really buy too much. But when you are in Vermont, I think it’s a must to buy syrup.
Our timing was perfect. On the way home from the northeast, we stopped in Champaign, Illinois where it just so happened to be Opening Day at Chick-Fil-A. I knew I was home.
Shannon knows how to work YELP and find these great places to eat. This was right off the interstate and sat among a bunch of generic fast food restaurants. The owner couldn’t have been nicer. In fact, he dated a girl from Champaign when he first moved to this country. We are constantly reminded as we travel... it’s a small, small world.
We stopped here on the way to Cleveland, Ohio and again on the way back. In the course of our trips we have gotten some good suggestions on things to do but this might be the best. Thank you Lenny Sementi! If you are ever in the Cleveland/Akron area, this is a must.
This will go down as one of those places where we just didn’t get to spend enough time. It’s only a town of 42,000 and it sort of sits on a hillside above Lake Champlain. These pictures were taken at Waterfront Park, and I think our timing for most beautiful evening of the year was spot on. One of these may make my 20 Best Pictures.
Waterbury, Vermont. Well worth a stop if you like ice cream and you are in Vermont.
