The Ruby Slipper was our final stop before heading to the airport on Monday morning after our race. Since we didn't get a chance to sample any King Cake, Shannon decided to order their version of the King Cake French toast. I got the huevos rancheros. Everything was delicious.
There are many places to purchase pralines. After all, it is a NOLA staple. So as we were heading to lunch after visiting the WWII museum, this little place was on the way. Neither one of us had ever had a praline and both of us decided they were pretty tasty.
If you ever get a chance to visit the National WWII Museum in New Orleans, GO! It is an exceptional museum and the 45 minute immersive video done by Tom Hanks is incredible.
We had some really great food at the upscale hipster food hall across the street from our hotel Sunday evening. Needless to say we were starving after the long run.
