Thanks to the record player for my birthday, the record collection is growing. I now have two!
Dr. Patrick Anderson wrote a play! Oakland people will remember him as Pat, Coach, or Mr. Anderson, but they call him Doctor now.
It was a thrill for Shannon Brachbill Smith and I to see the production at the Alton Little Theater. It was also great to see his wife Kim and daughter Taylor. It’s been 25 years since we worked together at Lake Crest Elementary, but hearing Pat laugh makes it seem like yesterday. https://www.riverbender.com/articles/details/alton-little-theater-presents-school-secrets-a-play-by-patrick-anderson-37102.cfm The play “School Secrets” was EXCELLENT. Who knew when we were continually looking for Pat’s golf ball at Norton Knolls Golf Course that he would be an author, playwrite, and school superintendent. This was truly one of the highlights of our 500 Days of Fun. Robert Pershing Wadlow was tall at 8 foot 11 inches, but he carried 490 pounds like a champ. Doesn’t look a pound over 280.
Every great trip ends. This one ended with breakfast and walking Ashton to Calculus class. See you in October!
We are staying in ALL kinds of hotels. I think our trip to Germany taught us to be flexible. This was a nice hotel/motel in Northport, AL.
My search for a favorite Mexican restaurant in Tuscaloosa continues. We have a contender in Central Mesa.
