This firehouse was from Staten Island (?). The door was painted afterwards with the help of a high school student.
There are part of the memorial where you can take pictures and this is one. If I remember correctly, it included the pictures of everyone who lost their life.
Most of my next few posts are indescribable. If you ever get the chance you should go to the memorial.
I still can’t believe we saw a show in Ford’s Theatre. It was a great show, but surreal to be sitting there looking at President Lincoln’s box.
The part I don’t get... and that’s okay... is these portraits will hang in The National Portrait Gallery... forever. I wonder how they will be perceived 500 years from now. Probably well, but it’s hard for me to imagine.
