This home is in Shannon’s grandmas’s hometown of Oberreifenberg, Germany. It is a private residence, but originally was City Hall. Shannon’s great grandfather worked there when he served as Mayor during the Depression. He did so because he could then borrow money from the city coffer to buy food for his family. We were standing on the street discussing this when a very nice lady walked by and invited us to see the inside of her home. She moved there from Singapore and spent 4 long years restoring the room with the paintings on the walls. They are fresco paintings depicting various cities in Europe. She is also Hugo’s mom.
