I haven’t had Chinese food since 1988. I got sick in Chinatown in Chicago and I’ve never tried it again. Shannon’s parents took us to Mattoon for her birthday and I must admit... it was very tasty.

A stop on our way back from Tuscaloosa, Bowling Green, and Louisville. Only 4 hours from home so it makes a nice trip for Cardinals or Cubs fans. Cards fell being 7-0 in the 5th so we headed to the car for the drive home. Sadly (or not) they scored 10 in that inning as we walked to the parking lot. Game of the year... and we were there... sort of.
First picture is not mine. Once the bridge closed, the City of Louisville eventually made it pedestrian only. It’s one of those great free activities you can do while traveling. I wish we could have been there at night for the light show.
https://louisvillewaterfront.com/explore-the-park/features/big-4-bridge/ This has been on my bucket list since I was 8 years old and it didn’t disappoint. You can’t take pictures during the tool, but I promise you it’s interesting for the whole family.
https://www.sluggermuseum.com/ This was a recommendation by my retired school architect Mike Sneddon. And a great recommendation it was. One of those places you would never stumble across before Yelp or Trip Advisor. Great pie. Great ice cream. You can tell by the last two pictures - the first as Shannon went in and the second after she had her pie.
https://www.piekitchen.com/ I am always excited to see where things are located, so I was very excited to see the Louisville football and baseball stadiums. I had no idea they were right across the street from Churchill Downs.
Churchill Downs tour was one of the highlights of the year so far. The museum is wonderful and seeing the track and grounds is equally as impressive.
